Bengaluru: Lightning results in death of four in state

Bengaluru, Apr 30: A student, a farmer couple, and a woman died due to lightning at different places in Karnataka on Monday April 29.

A farmer named Manjunath (48) and his wife, Bharathi (43), who were working in their land near Bappanakatte pond at Tegur village in Chikkamagaluru taluk died due to lightning at around. 4.45 pm.

Sharadamma (45), who had ventured out of her house to pick firewood from the courtyard in Heggere village near Bramasagara in Chitradurga district died due to lightning.

A student of BCM students hostel, Venkatesh (21) at Gauthamanagar in Ballari lost his life after lightning struck him on Monday. He was a native of Gosubalu village in Siruguppa village and second year commerce student of SGT College Ballari. Lightning struck him near his hostel.
