Bhatkal, May 2: A student, who was feeling jittery over the SSLC result that was to be announced on Tuesday April 30, had committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train on Tuesday. It has been found that he has actually failed in the examination.

Ramdas Naik (16) from Kudabail in Haldipur, a SSLC student of Gurukul high school at Karki near Honnavar, had jumped in front of a train that was moving towards Ernakulam near Haldipur between Kumta and Honnavar. His body was stuck in the front engine of the train, and he had died after the iron rod of the train hit the back of his head. Both his legs had been severed.

The incident had come to the notice of the railway officials after the train reached Honnvar station. Photos of the same had become viral in social media. Some had also given this photo the headline, 'train pulls away person taking selfie'.
