Udupi: Migrant labourer from Gadag hangs self

Udupi, May 3: Siddappa Devappa Pujar (28), a native of Mallasamudra in Siddarameshwara Nagar in Gadag district, ended his life by hanging on Wednesday May 1.

Pujar was a migrant labourer. He used a nylon rope to hang from a cashew tree in a thicket owned by Gaurishankar Bhat at Adkadakatte near Baliga Fishnet factory at Nittoor in Puttur village in the outskirts of the city.

Reason for the suicide is not known. A case relating to this incident was filed at the town police station here. Police are investigating.
