Mangaluru, May 3: Former member of legislative council (MLC), Ganesh Karnik, said that the irresponsible analysis made by PWD minister, H D Revanna, that Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts lagged behind in the SSLC result this year for failing to cast their votes to the coalition candidate, has resulted in insult to students from coastal district.

"The minister has congratulated his wife for the improvement in Hassan district's performance. At the same time, I trust that he will honestly own responsibility for the district's poor performance consistently for the last many years. The chief minster has also undermined the self respect of the people of the coastal districts by claiming that the citizens of the coastal region have low level of understanding, just because of the fact that his party has no base in Karnataka coast. These leaders should immediately stop issuing irresponsible statements and tender unconditional apology to students, parents, teachers and the general public of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts," he demanded.
