Kasargod: Bomb hurled at youth Congress activist's residence

Kasargod, May 6: Miscreants hurled a crude bomb at Deepu Krishna's residence in Periya, friend of recently murdered youth Congress activists Kripesh and Sharathlal. The wall of the house was damaged in the incident.

Though the family residing came out rushing from the house, the miscreants had fled by then. Deepu and his family was in the house during the incident.

Congress has alleged that CPM activists are behind the misdeed. Police have taken up preventive measures at the spot and conducted investigation. Bekal police have registered a case.



Youth Congress activists Kripesh and Sharathlal were murdered on February 17 this year. Eleven suspects including local CPM leader were arrested in the case.

Similarly, three houses of CPM activists Vatsan, Balakrishna and Babu are damaged in stone throwing. Seven vehicles have also been damaged. Meanwhile, Congress workers under the leadership of Congress candidate Raj Mohan Unnitan staged protests surrounding Bekal police station alleging that police have arrested and conducted excesses on innocent Congress activists with regard to the case of damaging CPM activist’s houses and vehicles. 

MLA N A Nellikunnu, district Congress president Hakim Kunnil and others took part.
