Bantwal: 'Rani Abbakka’ force flagged off by SP Laxmi Prasad

Bantwal, May 6: 'Rani Abbakka women force' formed for the safety and security of women was flagged off by superintendent of police of Dakshina Kannada Laxmi Prasad on Monday, May 6.

Flagging off the squad at B C Road junction, the SP said that the special squad is formed in every district in the state on instructions from DGP and IGP.

The squad will function under one SI grade female police officer. The members of the squad will be deployed in densely populated areas such as colleges, parks, railway station, market etc. There are 50 female police staff in Dakshina Kannada district. Three to five staffs will be assigned in each point. Cases concerning crimes that occur will come under respective police station limits.

Additional SP Dr Vikram V Amte, ASP Saidul Adavat, Bantwal police circle inspector Sharana Gowda, Sullia CPI Sathish Kumar, Belthangadi CPI Sandesh, Bantwal SI Prasanna, Sudhaker Tomte, Manjunath, Narayana Rai, staff Yogish, beat members Vasanthi Gangadhar and Jacintha were present.
