Udupi: District BJP slams state govt, submits memorandum to DC demanding action

Udupi, May 7: The district BJP submitted a memorandum to deputy commissioner Hephsiba Korlapati on Monday, May 6 demanding that the government has to action against state home minister for his recent actions.

In a media release, the BJP said, “The state government is trying to eliminate opponents. No action has been taken against Belur Gopalkrishna, even though BJP has lodged a complaint. Belur Gopalkrishna had allegedly given a call to kill the prime minister. Even JD(S) MLA Narayana Gowda threatened film stars Yash and Darshan. “Criticising the government and ministers is a crime in the state. It is creating an atmosphere of fear by taking action only against BJP leaders and party workers. Chief minister Kumaraswamy is silent over the issue.



“In some cases, cases were filed against BJP leaders under section 307. The government should run keeping aside political hate aside,” said the release.

District BJP president Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde and other party leaders and workers were present.
