Puttur: Car hurtles down gorge - one killed, four injured

Puttur, May 8: A car fell down a 20-feet gorge at Kodyakallu in Shiradi village on national highway 75 on Tuesday May 7. The car driver died on the spot in this accident. The deceased has been identified as Sunil (30) fro Malur in Kolar district.

All the four passengers of the car, who sustained serious injuries, stand admitted into a hospital at Mangaluru for treatment. The persons who were admitted into hospital happen to be Prashanth (25), Naveen (30), Ramesh (25) and Manoj (26), all hailing from around Nelamangala town in Bengaluru jrural district.

The car was moving to Kukke Subrahmanya on a pilgrimage when the accident happened. Nelyady police outpost personnel visited the spot and undertook relief and rescue measures. A case in this respect was registered in Uppinangady police station.
