Udupi, May 8: “When an organization forms and develops artistes, it has to face several challenges, criticism and insults. Do not lose heart in such circumstances. Face them with courage and encourage Konkani artistes,” said Konkani TV programme presenter and artiste, Alwyn Danti.

He spoke as chief guest at a hall programme where ‘Mummy Maka Zai’, a family drama was staged by Shankerpura Konkani artistes under the leadership of Nirantar Udyavar organization at Udyavar St Francis Xavier church premises.

“Several Konkani dramas are staged through Nirantar Udyavar organization. The premises earn more respect than the members of the organization in those events,” he said.

St Francis Xavier church assistant parish priest Fr Rolwin Aranha conveyed his best wishes. Organization president Steven Colaco welcomed the gathering. Convener Anil D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks. Olivera Mathias compered the programme.

Drama writer Waltson D’Sa Shankerpura and director Ganesh Rao Elloor were felicitated by the guests. More than 700 Konkani art fans watched the drama.
