Puttur: Boy dies, several others injured as their jeep topples at Padubettu

Puttur, May 8: In a tragic accident, a seventh standard student died and several others were injured as the jeep in which they were travelling lost control and toppled at Padubettu, Nelyadi in the wee hours at 3 am on Wednesday, May 8.

The deceased boy is identified as Sushmit (13), son of Atrijalu, Nelyadi resident Sundara Gowda. He was studying in seventh standard in Padubettu School. The victims of the mishap were returning after watching Yakshagana play held in the night on Tuesday.

A case is registered at Uppinangadi police station. The injured are admitted to a private hospital at Puttur.
