Puttur, May 10: A senior citizen hanged himself inside his house at Kodanje in Padnoor village in the taluk on Thursday May 9. He has been identified as Krishnappa Poojary (68) from Kodanje, Padnoor village.
It is said that Poojary was suffering from acute knee joint pain since the last ten years. His problems were further compounded when he began to suffer from piles and stomachache since the last two years. He had sought medical help for these problems but did not get the desired relief, it is learnt.
When no one was at home, Poojary hanged himself with the help of a rope tied to the cross beam supporting the roof of the kitchen of his home.
On the basis of a report filed by Chandrahas, son of Krishnappa, the town police here have registered a case of unnatural death.
