Kundapur, May 10: JD(S) national president H D Deve Gowda and his wife Chennamma visited the historical Sri Amrutheshwari Temple in Kota on Friday and offered special puja.

Temple president Anand C Kunder welcomed the former Prime Minister with a shawl and presented him fruits and flowers.

Managing committee members Chandra Acharya, Vishwanath Shetty, Chandra pujary, Parvathi Hande, Subraya Jogi, Sudha pujary, Ananthsunder Shenoy, priest representatives Roopesh Jogi, Raghavendra Jogi, Amrath Jogi, Narendra Jogi, JDS(S) members Yogish Shetty, Prakash Shetty Thekkatte, Prakash Jogi Kota, Congress members Shambhu pujary, Raju pujary, Thimma J pujary, Manjayya Shetty, Vijay Kunder Padukere, M Shiva pujary, Anjane Gowda, Srasti Engineering Manipal manager Jairaj V Shetty, Deve Gowda’s medical advice expert Dr Tanmay Goswami and others were present.


Wedding celebrations of grandson

The wedding invitation of Amogha, son of H D Deve Gowda’s younger daughter Shailaja was placed at the feet of the deity during the puja.

Speaking to news reporters on the occasion, the former prime minister said that he is visiting along with his wife, different temples in the state on Fridays. "The visits will continue till May 17. We have only visited Kota Amrutheshwari temple this week. Do not attach any other significance to the visit," he said.
