Udupi: Kamblakatta Sreeshailesh Upadhyaya ordained as Sanyasi

Udupi, May 11: Kamblakatta Sreeshailesh Upadhyaya, a pupil who was appointed as successor at Sri Krishna Saravajnya Peeta was ordained as Sanyasi at an auspicious time of 5.57 am on May 10 by Palimar seer Vidyadheesha Theertha Sripada here in the presence of junior seer Vishwaprasanna Theertha Sripada.

Religious scholar Gundibail Subrahmanya Bhat and vedic group performed Bhagavata Shravana, Viraja Mantra homa and other religious rituals. Religious scholars Korlalli Venkatesh Acharya, Rajagopal Acharya, Vasudev Upadhyaya, Girish Upadhyaya and parents of the pupil were present.

Several homas were performed by Paryaya Sripada for success before the programme. The head of the pupil was shaved and he was given a holy dip in Madhwa Lake. Paryaya Swamy preached in Sarvajnya Peeta. The pupil, who was wearing clothes of a commoner on Thursday, wore decoction color clothes on May 10.



Stuthi Pushcharane and different homas will be held on Saturday. Shailesh will be appointed successor of the math in the presence of other seers of the math. The Saligrama idols which have been prayed to for several centuries will be held on a plate and the plate will be placed on the head of the pupil followed by anointing by Palimar Shree in order that Shailesh be called junior seer of Palimar math.
