Puttur, May 11: During the late night hours on Thursday May 9, bottles were hurled at Masjidul Bari Jumma Masjid in Kedambady village, Baitul Rahman mosque at Darbe in Sarve village here and Rafayiya Madrassa at Koodurasthe here. A bottle was thrown into a room of Rifayiya Madrassa through the window. Glass pieces were scattered in the room where the priest was asleep, but he escaped from getting hurt.

A bottle was thrown into the compound of Masjidul Bari and the bottle which fell into the courtyard of the mosque got shattered into pieces. Glass pieces were found near the window of Baitul Rahman mosque, indicating that a bottle was thrown there. All the bottles were thrown at these mosques the same day.

Rural police station sub-inspector, Sattivelu, visited the spots and held discussions with the mosque management. As there are no CCTV cameras at these three mosques, the investigation process has encountered some difficulty. The police are now hunting for the miscreants behind these acts.
