Bhatkal, May 12: A group of lady tourists caught hold of a room boy and thrashed him indiscriminately on Saturday May 11 at Murudeshwar near here. He was accused of secretly video recording of the women taking bath in the bathroom.

A family from a distant district had arrived at Murudeshwar on Friday and hired rooms. On Saturday morning, the family members went to the beach, played there, and returned to the lodge. Then they began to take bath one by one. It is said that one of the room boys of the lodge where the group had stayed was seen capturing the women taking bath through his mobile phone. A young lady from the group noticed this act.

After she informed the family members about the misdeed of the room boy they together caught hold of him and beat him up. Those who tried to save the boy also were hit. The police later arrived there and took the boy to the police station.

As the family did not lodge a formal complaint with the police, they are learnt to have let the boy go after issuing him a stern warning.
