Dharwad: Minister Zameer vows to retire from politics if BJP forms government

Daijiworld Media Network - Dharwad (SP)

Dharwad, May 13: Minister, Zameer Ahmed Khan said that the claim of the BJP leaders that 20 Congress MLAs are in constant contact with them is nothing but a bundle of lies. He vowed to retire from politics if the BJP is able to form the government in the state before May 25 and asked Yeddyurappa to accept the challenge and retire from politics if his party fails to form government.

Speaking to reporters here on Sunday May 12, Zameer said that 10 BJP MLAs are in touch with the government and that he would reveal their names if the BJP comes up with the 20 Congress legislators' names. "BJP has no base in Karnataka. In 2008, Kumaraswamy did not hand over power to BJP. If he had given power to BJP then, the party would have been completely decimated from Karnataka by now."

Zameer predicted that H D Kumaraswamy will continue to be the chief minister of the coalition government for the full term and that Siddaramaiah will become chief minister in 2022. "He is not interested in fighting the election, but we and the people of the state will put pressure on him to enter the election fray and make him chief minister again," he said.

The minister pointed out that out of 104 BJP MLAs, over 60 percent had come from Congress and JD(S). He claimed that disgruntled BJP legislators are in touch with the Congress and that his party is currently not interested in admitting them.
