Puttur: Youth, rescuer, attacked by gang - complaint, counter complaint, filed

Puttur, May 28: In an incident which reportedly happened near Ambedkar Circle at Salmara here on Monday May 27, a youth was attacked by a gang with iron rods. The gang also rained expletives on him. A person who tried to shield the youth was also beaten up, it is said. Relating to he incident, a case was registered in the town police station here.

Muhammed Sadiq (21), son of Abdul Sattar from Salmara Gumpakallu in Chikkaudnur village in the taluk happens to be the complainant in the case. He stands admitted into a private hospital at Mangaluru. The complaint mentions that a person named Athaulla who tried to stop this attack was also beaten up.

A counter complaint was also registered in the police station against the injured. As per this complaint, Muhammed Sadiq along with Athaulla from Keremoole in Chikkaudnur village, went to the house of Ibrahim at Samethadka and attacked him. This incident reportedly happened before the first one.
