Kundapur, May 28: In a tragic and gruesome accident, a pedestrian was killed on the spot when he was hit and thrown by an unknown vehicle and run over by a lorry here.

The accident took place on Monday night, May 27 at Uppunda, NH66. The deceased was Uppunda Nandanavana resident Krishna.

Krishna used to peel coconuts for living. He was walking at about 8 pm on Monday from Uppunda Ambagilu to his residence. Meanwhile a vehicle plying on national highway from Byndoor to Kundapur hit him. He was thrown in the impact to the road leading to Byndoor. At that juncture, a lorry approaching from Kundapur to Byndoor has run over his head crushing it and killing him instantly. A case is registered at Byndoor police station.
