Moodbidri, May 29: A plait of hair was found in front of the residence of a Congress candidate contesting elections here. Suspicions if that can be witchcraft are heard.

The plaits of hair were found twice in front of the residence of current municipal councilor, former president of Mooda Suresh Kotian. He is contesting in ward No. 20 and the news of plait has spread rapidly.

Though the current incident had happened about four days ago, similar plait had appeared in front of the residence three days earlier to that. It is said that the plaits were found in the mornings in front of the house entrance and were more than one feet long. House people have set fire to it without lodging police complaint. As no items relating to witchcraft were found with the plaits it is not possible to conclude that it was witchcraft.

The hair in the plaits looked natural and was partly grey. Opposition party members are saying their own version of the incident.
