Don't Have Experience for the PM Post - Rahul

PTI

Kolkata, Apr 25: Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said he would "refuse" to become Prime Minister "now" as he does not have the experience required for the top post.

"Now ... I would refuse," he said at a press conference when asked whether he would accept Prime Ministership in the near future.

"I do not think I have the experience to be the Prime Minister of the country right now," said 39-year-old Gandhi who was flanked by external affairs minister Pranab Mukherjee.

He also said that he was working for developing a strong pro-poor Youth Congress, an initiative that has borne fruit in Punjab and Gujarat.

During the nearly hour-long press meet, Gandhi responded to a volley of question ranging from the situation in Sri Lanka to the Left Front government performance in West Bengal.

Rahul also criticized Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the demolition of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya and the economic liberalization done by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

"Masjid was broken by the politics of the BJP," he said. “It was broken by the politics of division, it was broken by dividing Indians against Indians,” he added.

You are a true, sincere and loyal Indian. Rahuls are very rare in today’s politics. People enter to politics to gain power and wealth. We admire your qualities which you have inherited from your mother. People in Karnataka are struggling to get a small piece of land in Bangalore (even for sports person like Robin Uthappa) where as it is easy for the people in politics. Thanks to Karnataka government.

What is the real motive of these sycophants in the media - posing question to an immature person like Rahul Gandhi - asking him to clarify about his candidacy for the post of Prime minister of the largest democracy in the world? Has he done anything till now to merit such question? Absolutely none. Obvious to any right-minded person that it is the sinister game plan of the Congress party, preparing the gullible minds of the general public to accept him to the high post in the future.

Unfortunately, the other political parties are also equally shameless, who have merely followed in the same footsteps by indulging in the same kind of ‘dynasty politics’. They are also busy scheming up their devious plans - projecting those inept and dishonest children of their own leaders. It is so unfortunate that these politicians have been successful in merely continuing the olden days of kingdoms and fiefdoms, cheating the Indian the public and subverting the democratic process to their own benefits.

This has been possible because of the mindset of the uneducated masses with short memory. Educated people with this ‘chalta hai’ and uncaring attitude with short vision are also equally responsible for this sorry state of affair. Wake up India!

Mr. Mallya, Rahul is a much better personality than many power hungry among your favorite list? Do not blame his father, Rajive''s initiatives made India IT power house. Million youngsters have become rich! All these youngsters need not use communal cards for the money! Knowledge in IT is good enough for the dream life! All we know about Advani is devided people on communal line, which is already a recipie for disaster!

Rahul has been honest enough to admit that he does not have the experience of the dirty world of Indian politics. he accepts that he has to put in a few more years before he is ready to take charge of the party or to be even projected as the PM of India. compared to the BJP the congress is a far lesser evil that i would to run this country. it is another story that the people in the congress do not look beyond the Nehru-Gandhi family all said and done compared to Advani and the BJP and the sangh parivar the Nehru-Gandhi family is much better off to lead the people of the country.

At the very least, Rahul is fair and pragmatic. How many other greedy politicians have the guts to say what he said? I am in no way supporting him or any one else, but I am impressed by the way Rahul is maturing. He is saying and doing the right things that will help his candidature for prime minister''s position in the future.

I absolutely agree with Arun Menezes''s comments. Rahul is a tranquil gentleman and he has the nutritious right to become PM of India. Why we should think what his father was and what his ancestors were. Annotations from Prem, Mangalore seems to me blinkered as Prem is bringing in Rahul''s predecessors but calls him 100% qualified. One day Charles, Arun, Prem and even me can dream to become PM of our great nation as we all are the real city dwellers of our own country and why not ? ....If Devegowda who to me still is an amateurish from Karnataka became a PM one could never forget. I tell you what....now jumping into politics became a modus operandi to the Indian film luminaries. What experience in politics do they have then...???? - Lancy Moras

Mr. Lallu Prasad''s wife became Chief Minister without political experience and educational qualification.  In Inda any thing can be done. But if you wish to become a clerk in the office or to wish to become a Store keeper or even to become a peon in a bank you should be a graduate. But to become a Prime or Chief Minister you should have atleast forth standard education is required and even you do not know to stand when the national anthum reciting, sit and say Janagamana because you are chief Minister. Then why Mr. Raul Ghandi cannot become Prime Minister of Vande Matharam country

Even though Mr. Rahul Gandhi has reiterated the fact that he is not seeking the post of PM of India, still the reporters and politicians are ruthlessly bothering him with the same question. If anybody has doubt about his qualification to be the PM of India, be assured of the reality that one day he will be the Prime Minister of India.

The sheer arrogance of Rahul Gandhi is breath taking. He reportedly will turn down the prime ministership if its offered to him presently. Pray, what experience has this young man who is still an enigma to the world at large, got? It appears that even his so called degrees are a tissue of lies. His background before he was thrust upon the indian citizenry by his loving mom and her sycophants is still vague or unknown. He will prove to be as much a disaster for our nation as his late father was. I hope and pray that such a catastrophe will never be visited on our beloved country.

Rahul seems to have very less chance of becoming PM in near future. First, he lacks the prime leadership qualities, as ability to make instant speech, wit, etc. Morever, he is too young to be projected for PM. The only qualification he presently has is, that he belongs to Nehru family. Congress to avoid party infighting, has been always projecting Nehru family to cover disputes within party.

Mr.D''mello, if an actor''s son can become an actor, cobler''s son a cobler and a goldsmith''s son a goldsmith....what is wrong if a Prime Minister''s son becomes a Prime minister. Is it Rahul''s fault that he is Rajiv Gandhi''s son and wants to take active part in Politics,... all this dynasty funda is created by BJP and does not have weight in it, we should see Rahul Gandhi as an individual, his capablities and experience, rather than seeing as someones son. Then the whole funda of dynasty will have no meaning.

One must appreciate the earnestness & truth in what Rahul speaks. That makes him a gentleman. Rahul & Varun are the true face of Congress & BJP respectively in principle. One goes with truth, facts, simplicity, progress, maturity and logic, while the other goes with falsehood, hatred, arrogance, immaturity and voilence. Though both are handsome, the question remains whom people choose as gentleman.

Rahul always spoke about development but the press keeps on asking the same PM question again & again. He had told several times that a prime minister will be elected by his party through their candidate’s maturity, popularity & readiness. Let him ignite the fire of development in the youths of today for better tomorrow. In this grind of politics he had forgotten that he has to bring a much awaited Bahu to the Nehru-Gandhi home.
