Mangaluru: Brother-sister duo bag medals in Ice-skating championships

Mangaluru, May 30: A brother-sister duo from Mangaluru won gold and silver medals in national level ‘Speed Skating Open Challenge 2019’ competitions held in Gurgaon, Delhi and brought glory to the state.

Dashel Amanda Consessao, resident of Malemar, Mangaluru daughter of Francis Consessao and Doris Consessao won a gold medal in 500 meters ice rink race for girls between 13 and 15 years. Her brother Daniel Salvodore Consessao secured a silver medal in 500 meters ice rink race for boys between 15 and 19 years of age. Both of them are students of Cambridge School, Neermarga.

They have been receiving training from national trainer in ice-skating Avadhoot Thavade. The children are members of High Fliers Skating club, Mangaluru and are also getting trained by trainers Mohandas K and Jayaraj.
