Brahmavar: House at Baikady consumed by fire

Brahmavar, May 31: A house located at Baikdy village here was gutted in fire on the night of Wednesday May 29. It belonged to Hoovayya Shetty.

It is said that the fire spread in the house on account of a short circuit. Hoovayya's wife, Vanaja Shedthi, suffered burn injuries in the incident. She stands admitted into a hospital. Some animals in the cattle shed located adjacent to the house also sustained burn injuries. Electronic equipment and stock of coconuts inside the house too were burnt down. The loss is stated to be running into several lacs of rupees.

Zilla panchayat vice president, Sheela K Shetty, gram panchayat president, Jayalaxmi Shetty, member, Chandrashekhar, panchayat development officer, Adarsh Shetty and others visited the spot.
