Kundapur, Jun 12: “The part played by parents in moulding the future of children is important. Instead of buying property, make children as your property and provide them good education. Make them good citizens by teaching them good values and culture. Develop pride towards school and indulge in the development of the school,” said Udupi district Rajyotsava awardee, entrepreneur, Mookambika Charitable Trust president Krishnamurthi Manjaru.
He was speaking after distributing free notebooks and uniforms on behalf of M S Manja Charitable Trust, Chittoor to government model higher primary school, Vandse students.
“Government has recognized English medium instruction in Vandse school. Parents, teachers, the elite and donors are like four pillars for educational institutes. We should understand their importance. I have given priority to this school in my life. The trust and school should come up as a model in Karnataka. That is my desire,” he said.
Gram panchayat president, Mookambika Charitable Trust secretary Udayakumar Shetty said that English medium instruction in the school has begun four years ago but the government has recognized it now. “It was possible because of Vidhan Parishat Sabhapathi K Pratapchandra Shetty. Similarly Krishnamurthi Manjaru is donating Rs 3.5 lac worth uniforms, notebooks and school bags. Let us provide more facilities and make it a model school,” he said. SDMC president Manjunath Ganiga presided over the programme.
Mookambika Charitable Trust treasurer G Sridhar Shetty, trust members Seetarama Shetty, Mookambika temple managing committee member Vadamballi Jayaram Shetty, gram panchayat member Udaya Naik, SDMC former president Chandra Rayappanadi were present.
School headmistress Mohini Bai welcomed and gave an introductory address. Physical education teacher Raju N compered the programme. Senior teacher Asha rendered the vote of thanks. School teachers helped to hand over uniforms, belts, notebooks and school bags to children.
