Mangaluru, Jul 3: Five students were suspended from a private college here on Wednesday, July 3, in connection to the rape of a student of private college in a car after intoxicating her by feeding some substance.
In addition, they had also made a video of the intimate act and shared the same on WhatsApp which went viral.
Prajwal, Prakyath, Kishan Acharya, Gurunandan and Sunil are the students who are suspended from the college. The decision was taken after the meeting held by college administrative board.
According to the complainant, in the month of March, one of the students of the college and accused Sunil had taken the girl in a car in pretext of having a talk, along with Prajwal, Prakruth and a driver. It is alleged that she was taken to an unknown place and gang-raped.
She was also threatened not to reveal the incident to anyone or they would circulate the video on social media.
In this regard case has been registered at Puttur women’s police station.
