Bengaluru, Jul 3: The people of the city are yet to come to terms with the tragic death of a couple after falling from the upper floor of a pub on M G Rod here recently. In another such incident, a woman and her two-year-old child fell down from the seventh floor of Sriram Whitehouse Apartment at Dinnur Road, R T Nagar here.
This incident happened on the evening of Tuesday July 2. Bhavana (29) and her son, Devansh (2), lost their lives in this incident. Bhavana was the wife of Arihant Kumar, a software engineer working for a private company at Pulakeshinagar here.
Devansh was playing in the balcony of their apartment at around 3.45 pm when Bhavana was speaking to someone on the cellphone. A senior police officer said that accidentally both of them fell from the seventh floor of the building. When the incident happened, Bhavana's mother-law was resting in her bedroom.

The mother-in-law was not aware of such a big tragedy till the shifting of bodies to Baptist Hospital. After the neighbours informed him, Arihant rushed to the hospital from his office. Arihant lived in the seventh floor of the eight-storied apartment complex with his family.
When the mother and child fell from above, it made a huge sound. The security staff then alerted the neighbours. When the police came there and were conducting verification, some claimed this to be no accidental death. This gave rise to tense moments for some time. It was said that Bhavana's father, Nirmalkumar Jain, had said that the couple had some differences between them since some months. Nirmal reportedly told someone that his daughter was unhappy about it. He felt that because of this tensions, she could have taken the decision to commit suicide.
But no death note was found either at the spot where Bhavana's mortal remains were found or inside her flat. So the police plan to question Arihant to get to the root of the case.
Sources close to the family asserted that this is an accident and not suicide.
