Easy and transparent: Sand Bazaar App to be launched in Udupi

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (KR/EP)

Udupi, Jul 5: After Dakshina Kannada district, Udupi is all set to launch Sand Bazaar App. Through this app, citizens can get sand delivered to their doorsteps, at a cheaper rate. This app also eliminates the involvement of middlemen.

“The Sand Bazaar App is currently being designed. Once it is launched, sand will be available to citizens only through the app,” said Udupi deputy commissioner (DC) Hephsiba Rani Korlapati.

She was speaking after presiding over district sand coordination committee meeting at DC’s office on Thursday.

“The app is being developed on lines of the Sand Bazaar App that was launched in Dakshina Kannada district. The company developing the app is provided with required information. Discussions were held with various departments and details that can be included in the app are collected. Sand will be distributed only through the app. With this, there will be no room for confusion,” DC said.

The DC asked the software company to launch the app soon.

“People can order for sand from the spot closest to them. They can check the rates online. Sand will be delivered to one’s doorstep, if the amount is paid online. There is no need to hire a vehicle to get the sand delivered. Once sand is ordered, details of sand loading and the vehicle details through which it will be delivered will be sent to the mobile phone of the person who placed the order. Sand contractors and vehicles that transport sand need to register on the app. Workshops will be conducted to train drivers of sand transporting vehicles on using the app. A similar workshop will be conducted and citizens will be trained on placing orders,” DC informed.

There were discussions in the meeting about details that can be included in the app. Additional deputy commissioner Vidya Kumari, Kundapur zonal forest officer Prabhakaran, Kundapur sub divisional officer Madhukeshwar, mining and geology department officer Ranji Naik and other department officials were present.

Further details of Sand Bazaar app are made available on mobile No. 9663303409.

Good idea.. Let the Local Govt take up the SAND Mining area and allot Rationed sand as per merit on controlled prices and quality with best service.
Local Govt should take over these areas.
mine where is necessary and start distributing to meet the local demands.and regularize this strategic area...
since Basic raw materials is the core of construction.
Look at Crushing JALLI.. and produce all sizes of Aggregates proportionately the crushed sand too.
Find solutions from America..japan..Germany with alternative methods of Construction to replace /Substitute sand..

Only available for construction of apartments where bulk quantities required. Not for those building individual houses. Everything gets grabbed by the hig realty companies. The middle class still has to suffer and when they pay online, how long they have to wait to receive the sand ordered. Better to shift to quarry dust for concrete requirements as in Kerala.
