Fr William Fernandes was loving, kindhearted person. He gelled so well with children. He was in my native parish when I was a kid of just eight year old. He used call me ' huliraya' a name he would repeat when I used to meet him recently. He blessed my nuptials. When he knew on Sunday, post mass only few kids used to buy ice candies from the vendor and others for lack of money went without it, he used order entire box of candy saw that evryone got it. Indeed a man of God and true priest of Christ. Rest in peace Fr William. We will miss your smiling and reassuring face.

I can say Fr. William Fernandes was a simple and humble priest. I met him in Dubai when he visited here and few months back in Kankanady Fr. Mullers hospital. Heard lot of good things about him from his family. God blessed him with a peaceful death. Condolences to his entire family, esp. Aunty Mary Aranha , Dr. Uncle Harold Fernandes , Uncle Joe Fernandes and all other family members. May his soul rest in peace with Jesus.

Fr. William Fernandes was my Head Master at Milagres High School, Kallianpur. He was a strict disciplinarian, but very humble and simple priest with a compassionate heart. He had a special love for poor students and arranged special classes for them freely. He used to visit our homes periodically in the evenings and was truly a model priest to the core. A man of prayers and a very holy priest with simple living style. Wanted to meet and thank him but this could not happen. He was an inspiration to us students too to excel in whatever we do. May the good Lord reward him with eternal bliss in his kingdom.

Really shocked to see the news. Very sad that people of Mangalore Diocese lost a dedicated educationist. Fr William has struggled a lot in the Diocese for providing education for the needy. May his soul rest in peace. Heartfelt Condolences to his family members.
