Kundapur, Jul 8: In a shocking incident which happened at Maravanthe near here on Sunday July 7 afternoon, a youth aged around 32 was washed away into the sea by surging waves instantly as he stepped into the seawater.

This incident happened at the beach adjacent to Maraswamy Temple at Maravanthe. The youth who lost his life incident was Chetan Shetty, son of Vittal Shetty from Chittur near Marnakatte in the taluk.

Some tourists who were on the beach at the time captured the scene of Chetan getting dragged away by waves in their cell phones. The video shows Chetan getting swept away in an instant. The people at the spot immediately alerted the police with the support of locals. Gangolli police and firemen reached the spot thereafter, and traced the mortal remains of the deceased.

Three cell phone numbers were found to have been written in a slip of paper found in Chetan's pocket. A request, 'please contact me' was found written thereon and wrapped in plastic cover, the police said. This helped in contacting the family of the deceased.

He worked in Dubai for the well being of his family, got married and had a daughter. Lost his loving wife in tragic medical incident at very young age. He lost his father recently.

He was a very sensitive person, very innocent, very honest to the core.

Never abused, shouted or cursed any one in his entire life. He donated most of his earning to needy and social welfare.

Being born in a rich landlord family, some of the incidents in his life devastated his belief and trust on the people.

Mostly he lost his hope on the life.

Ultimately his young 6 years old daughter lost both the parents!

    Tragic ..Tragic

Rip Currents. Do not get into the ocean during monsoon. There is nothing mysterious about this. The rip currents are very strong at this time and you may well be carried out to sea. Even the best swimmers are at risk of being dragged out to sea. Very sad about the victims, but these deaths are preventable. Rip currents are dangerous.

Can you explain in what way your 15 lakhs could have helped him? According to the gentleman who knew him well, he was from a well to do family, son of a landlord but unexpected tragedies had happened in his family. Very sad.
