Two youngsters arrested for torching 22 bikes, 2 cars in Mumbai

Mumbai, Aug 12: Two youngsters were arrested on Saturday, for allegedly torching 22 bikes and two four-wheelers' in Antop Hill on August 8. As per police, the youngsters set the vehicles on fire, as they wanted to terrorise the slum dwellers in the area.

Police said, the incident took place on Thursday around 3 am, near Vijar Nagar in Antop Hill. The fire brigade reached on time and with the help of locals managed to douse the fire. No injuries were reported. Residents of the area had parked their vehicles in a nearby open ground and the total value of the gutted vehicles was estimated to be Rs 2.26 lac.

The youngsters, Fayyaz Qadri (23) and Akshay Kamble (23) were reportedly angry with an acquaintance staying in the area because he refused to let them borrow his bike. The police official said that they are probing into the matter.
