Mangaluru, Aug 31: Deekshit Poojary (31), a resident of Niddel Maroli in the city, who was absconding by not presenting himself in the court since two years was arrested by the anti-rowdy squad of Mangaluru South sub-division. He is involved in seven cases including the shootout attempt on the car of entrepreneur Vijayendra Bhat.
Deekshit Poojary was accused in the case of shooting at the car of Vijayendra Bhat, owner of Saibeen Complex and Sudheendra supermarket on Ballalbagh-Mannagudda road as per the instructions of underworld don Vicky Shetty. In total seven case are registered in his name in the city of Mangaluru and Udupi.
Deekshit Poojary is involved in three cases, including murder and shootout attempt in Barket police station, one murder case at Pandeshwar police station, one assault case at Bunder police station, ganja and assault case in Kadri police station, assault cases in Urwa and Suratkal police stations and case under Arms Act at Udupi police station.
A warrant was taken out on his name and he was arrested by the anti-rowdy squad.
