Mumbai, Sep 2: The ten day long Ganesha festival is being celebrated with pomp and gaiety in the country starting from Monday. Residents of the city also had an opportunity to enjoy an exhibition of images and sculptures of Lord Ganesha called by devotees as Bappa.

The exhibition displays sculptures of Ganesha on coins, stamps and foreign currency, jewelry, matchboxes, paintings, postcards and spoons. Lord Ganesha is also called Siddivinayak, Vighnaharta, Gajanana, Lambodara etc.

A 2000 year old idol of Lord Ganesha believed to have been carved in the first century is preserved well by Dr Prakash Kothari.
