'Snow Ganesha Idol' steals show in Mumbai’s Ganesh Chaturthi festival

Mumbai, Sep 9: A Ganesha idol made up of natural snow attracted maximum crowd during the ongoing Ganesh Chaturthi festival in Mumbai. The Idol, which has lunar mission Chandrayaan-2 as theme attracted visitors from all across the city.

'Snow Ganesha' as it is kept at -10 degrees Celsius temperature at 'Snow World' in Mumbai's Phoenix market city and is made up of more than 500 kg of snow.

As reported in ANI, Sushant, who is the curator of the idol, said that the 'Snow Ganesha' is being made for the last 7 years. "This year it is special as it is not Ganpati Bappa alone which is installed, but the theme this year is India's moon mission Chandrayaan-2. Visitors are performing 'pooja' and 'aarti,' he said.

Ganesh Chaturthi festival, which started on September 2 will end on September 12 with the 'visarjan' of Ganesha idols in water bodies.
