Mangalore Vigilantes at it Again - Four Muslim Boys Attacked

Mangalore, Jul 26 (DHNS): Four students belonging to the Muslim community were roughed up by vigilante group members in three separate incidents in and around the City on Saturday.

While three students were attacked near Adyar on the outskirts of the City, a boy was assaulted near State Bank here. Muzafar (19), Naufal (19) and Nizar (17), who boarded a KSRTC bus towards Mangalore from Bantwal at around 7.45 am, were assaulted by a group of six miscreants when the bus reached near Sayhadri College in Adyar.

Muzafar told Deccan Herald that they were occupying the back row seats of the bus. “Miscreants belonging to Hindu vigilante group had boarded the bus from Adyar and started beating three of us without any reason. They used abusive language against our community and one of them wearing a metal punch, assaulted us,” he added. Naufal said that the miscreants kicked him when he fell down.

All the three victims are students of different educational institutions in the city. Muzafar and Naufal, residents of Bantwal, are I BA students while Nizar, a resident of Lorettopadavu in Bantwal, is a PU student. Kankanady police have registered a case.
In another incident of vigilante attack, a 16-year old boy was roughed up for talking to a girl of another religion in the city on Saturday.

Khahid, a 10th standard student of a city based school, was beaten up by a vigilante group member near the State Bank junction for talking to his classmate, belonging to Hindu religion. Khahid, a resident of Someshwara Ucchil, told Deccan Herald that he spoke to the girl only because she was his classmate.

“He (miscreant) did not listen to my pleas and continued to beat me. Later, he took me in an autorickshaw towards Pandeshwar Police Station. However, he did not take me to police station and instead, he dropped me back at the State Bank junction,” Khahid said adding that the miscreant had fled away from the scene when police arrived.

In yet another incident, Aboobacker, an employee of a mobile shop in the city, was also beaten up by a group of eight unidentified men on the same day. Abboobacker was assaulted near the Milagres Church by the group.

Four persons have been picked up in connection with the Adyar incident. However, police have denied the same.

Once Mahatma Gandhi qouted: An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.....! If the administration pretends to be blind and do not take these incidents seriously, I am afraid, eye for an eye code of justice will prevail soon in the city. My sincere request to our administration to put an immediate stop for these incidents.

This is nothing but rowdism. Government machineries are in support of their act and remain as spectators. Before, it is too late, Respectable Mr. Gopal Hosur, please crush these anti social elements mercilessly to prevail peace and tranquility in the society.

This is ridiculous…. I don’t see any point in this act by the so called to say “miscreant” to interfere in students business…. Does that mean they can do whatever they want to… and others should be a victim to their torcher… Is it only their society and they are given all the rights to set rules as n how they want…. Or are we their servants that we got to dance according to their tune…. Why don’t the government take action on such furious act….

I think it is time we write off Mangalore, and move away to other peaceful and accomodative places. The government wants it this way.

Good idea is to build schools, colleges and universities separately for Hindus and Muslims. Gradually, all services required for the day to day needs would also be segregated, so that no muslim boys would interact with the girls of other religion. Ram Sena Cadres and Leader, how is this idea, Great?????????
