Bangalore: KPTCL To Go Ahead With Gundya Project

Bangalore, Jul 26: Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPCTL) is all set to go ahead with Gundya Hydro-Electric Project after the ministry of environment and forest has given a green signal for pre-construction activities.

KPTCL sources said that the formal letter from the ministry is awaited which is expected to come through in August. The ministry is yet to meet environmental clearances, added sources.

It can be recalled here that the Gundya project was strongly opposed by environmentalists and forest department.
