Mangalore, Jul 27:
Science Association, which is guided by the theme, 'We can Change', was inaugurated at Pompei PU College near Kinnigoly in the taluk, recently.

Fr Jerome D'Souza, principal of the college, presided over the function. Dr Alwyn Roshan Pais, professor, NITK Suratkal, was the chief guest. In his inaugural address, he came up with some useful tips for the benefit of the students. He advised the students to think positively, not to underestimate anyone and called upon them to go for higher studies. Study is not limited to schools, colleges and universities alone, but one has to keep studying all through his life, he observed. He concluded his speech by saying that the level of determination in completing the tasks has a direct bearing on the success level of an individual.

Principal Fr Jerome D'Souza said that  science has become a part and parcel of the  lives of the people and pointed out that scientific inventions have paved way for rapid changes in the world, in the recent years." We should develop the power of observation with which, we can make this world a better place to live," he noted.

Association convener, Lawrence Sequeira, explained the aim and importance of  Science Association. Madhuri B, student president of the Science Association, welcomed the gathering and briefly introduced the guest. Sachin Fernandes proposed vote of thanks. Shipra Shetty and Anirudha Shetty compered the programme. Entertainment programme was presented thereafter.
