Madantyar: Samanvaya Cooperative Bank Madantyar shifted to New Premises

Mangalore July 27:  Co-operative movement has found itself deep-rooted in Madantyar, a village in Beltangady taluk, because of an institution called Samanvaya Co-operative Bank. This Bank has rendered commendable services to the society at large, by working towards the development of the village by pooling the savings of the people and utilizing the money so collected for the development of the people. It completed five years of existence in Madantyar this June and has shifted its office to a new building called ‘Sacred Heart Complex’, which is well-equipped, furnished and air- conditioned.


Belthangady MLA K Vasantha Bangera inaugurated the new office and said that the Bank has become successful because of its officials, who have worked hard and exhibited openness, set lofty aims before them, apart from maintaining transparency in its operations and accounts. As a result of all these, the Bank’s turnover has crossed Rs 7.5 Crore this year, he noted.  

Fr Rudolf D’Souza, superior of Canada Carmelite Province, who presided over the inaugural ceremony of the new office, said that generous contribution towards the society makes the co-operative firms stronger and that such gestures prove to be beneficial for the society too.
 
The chief guest, an official of Karnataka State Co-operative department, Praveen Nayak, inaugurated the safe room and felt that the cooperative institutions from other districts have a lot to learn from their counterparts located in Dakshina Kannada district.
 
On the occasion of the inauguration, six persons were offered mementos for their support and cooperation in the growth of Samanvaya Bank. President of the bank, Jerald Rodrigues, welcomed the gathering. Francis V V  compered the programme and chief executives officer of the Bank, John M D’Souza, proposed vote of thanks.
