Mumbai, Nov 9: In a bizarre incident, the city crime branch, on Thursday cracked a three-year-old murder case and arrested a 28-year-old for killing his older brother and dumping the body in a creek at Thane.
The culprit, identified as Vijay Manuskare killed his brother, Umesh Manuskare and dumped the body in a creek at Siddivinayak Nagar in Titwala.
Senior inspector Sanjay Nikumbe said the accused was arrested in Pydhonie area of South Mumbai by a police team led by inspector, Arjun Jagdale Pydhonie. "Based on the tipoff, we detained Vijay. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime," said Nikumbe as quoted by TOI.
“Vijay admitted that he fought with his brother at night after they went out for a drink when they got into a scuffle after Vijay refused to give Umesh more money for booze. Vijay hit Umesh with an empty beer bottle," said police inspector, Arjun Jagdale Pydhonie.
The accused was handed over to Kalyan taluk police station on Thursday.
