'Maha does not need Khichdi Govt, it needs stable govt': Fadnavis

Mumbai, Nov 23: After taking oath as Maharashtra Chief Minister for the second consecutive term, Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday said that Maharashtra does not need a Khichdi government anymore, but needs a stable government.

"People had given us a clear mandate, but Shiv Sena tried to ally with other parties after results. As a result, President's rule was imposed. Maharashtra needed a stable govt not a 'khichdi' government," Fadnavis told ANI.

NCP's Ajit Pawar took oath as deputy chief minister of Maharashtra and BJP, with 105 seats, forged alliance with the NCP which bagged 54 seats to garner the majority figure.

The surprise move happened when Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena were about to reach the final stage on Friday. Even, the NCP supremo, Sharad Pawar on Friday claimed that there was a consensus on Sena chief, Uddhav Thackeray as chief minister of the alliance government.

    BJP got Sena as Gharwali and now NCP as Baharwali. Nothing more to say. Fadnavis only wanted to be in power weather in khichdi or ki chand.

    Now ncp will devide two groups.. some will go with Ajit power ... some will remain in original party with sharad power.... and BJP will be short in majority.. wont get figure to rule 152 seats...... and again there will be situation like karnataka...
    But it's good for Congress and NCP ...

    Fadnavis was accusing Shiva Sena of talking to NCP. BJP was married to Shiva Sena for 30 years and now it is love at first sight for NCP or is it a one night stand. Shameless colour changing politics since 2014..
