Mumbai, Nov 26: The youth wing of Malad Kannada Sangha held its annual chess and carom tournaments on November 24. It was inaugurated at their office by the president of the sangha, Harish N Shetty along with youth wing president, Santhosh Poojary and office-bearers.
Children, youth and women in the vicinity took part in large numbers. The youth wing secretary, Sundara Poojary Valpady, Ranjan Poojary, Dikshit Poojary, Shruthi Poojary and others made it a successful event.
Harish Shetty in the concluding programme held in the evening said that parents should encourage their children to take part in Kannada learning camps and competitions such as these so that they come to know our language, culture and values.
Prizes were distributed to the winners by the elite. Donors, Shekhar Poojary and Hilary Lobo sponsored the programme. Secretary, Shanker D Poojary compered it.
