Bengaluru, Dec 6: Some people do not get suitable bride or groom when they want to get married. Some people have patience and take more time in search of life partner of their liking. However, some others lose patience and try to get married at any cost.

In a similar incident of desperation, a 42-year-old temple priest from Shivamogga, who was desperate that he did not get a bride till now, was taken for a ride by the marriage broker and a girl and lost Rs 11 lac in the process of getting married.

G Bhat from Shivamogga is the person who was taken for a ride. He had approached several marriage brokers as he did not get suitable bride, though he crossed the age of forty two years back. At last a broker by the name Ganesh B agreed to get him a bride.

Ganesh B told priest G Bhat that he has looked after an orphan girl by the name Nayana Kumari and she is just 27 years old. Broker Ganesh said that Nayana grew up in his own house and he will give her in marriage to Bhat. In addition, broker Ganesh also said that other two brokers Srikant Aithal and Achuth Hebbar will be witness for the marriage and he has to give Rs 3 lac for this.

Agreeing to all the terms of broker Ganesh, G Bhat got married to Nayana Kumari at a temple in Kundapur. Within a week of getting married, the couple went to Bengaluru. Nayana was completely upset after a month into marriage with G Bhat. She left the house of Bhat saying that she was feeling irritated and she needed loneliness. When leaving, she took golden ornaments worth Rs 8 lac with her.

A complaint has been filed by G Bhat against all the three brokers. Police have arrested Srikant Aithal. During investigation police have come to know that Nayana was married in similar fashion on two occasions earlier also. It is said that broker Ganesh is following the same modus operandi with many bridegrooms.
