Addictions are very demonic, one should never allow to oneself become slave of anything, whether alcohol, drugs, online games, gambling, Pornograpy, mobiles, TV, social media. Some of the online games may be created for addictions, brainwash, control and specially to keep away from prayers.

Self control in everything is very much required. One need to keep certain time for family, prayers, work, study, out doors, exercise etc to keep addictions away.

Besides professional counselling, praying from heart Our Lady's all the 4 mysteries Rosary available online is one of the best way to combat distraught and also temptational thoughts in the addicted persons.

    Dear Nawaz
I agree excessive alcohol is bad. Drink responsibly for relaxation and socially when it becomes addiction it can be very harmful for self and for others. But there are more killings without drinking alcohol. Hope you understand what I mean. So we cannot be judgmental on couple of incidents. Religion, Home atmosphere, more importantly self control is very important.

This case a young men lost his life untimely makes us sad for sure. Reason is not only alcohol there may be so many other social elements involved.

When a person is drunk he is unable to distinguish right from wrong because the influence of alcohol has overshadowed him and seized his power of reasoning. He talks and acts foolishly without shame.

The condition in which some people return home from social gatherings when they are drunk is often shameful and annoying. Some have to become heavy loads for others to carry home with shirts and coats rumpled and trousers soaked with urine. Some vomit on their beds and do lots of thing. to embarrass their relatives. wives, children and friends.

We, catholic people have learned God's words till our adulthood. Every Sunday, we attend mass and listen to homily. But, unfortunately, many of our brethren are not able to distinguish bad from good.
The killing of his son is unpardonable and he will get punishment under law of land and of God.

Here, a father has killed his own son; without any rason . I repeat- Father killed his son.

I am expecting valuable comments from those who argue that alcohol is not bad. Isn't alcohol transfers us from an intelectual human being to merely an Animal?

Remember the recent gang rape and murder by burning of Priyanka Reddy in Hyderabad? All 4 rapists were intoxicated before they committed that heinous crime which shamed all the humanity.

Nawaz, agreed alcohol can lead people to do things that they otherwise may not do.

However, many of the worst crimes are also committed by those that do not consume any form of intoxication at home. Eg, domestic violence meted out by housewives / ladies to their household help. There are many others too.

Again, I do not say alcohol is great for health and so on..
Point is , It is people that do bad things. There are people who drink yet are so jolly and composed . I have been in the company of such people . There are those that don’t drink yet are a nuisance everywhere .. on the roads, offices etc.

Destruction is in the minds and hearts of the ppl.. alcohol is an excuse..

    Brother Anand,
You are saying that destruction is in heart and mind and not in Alcohol.

And when you combine your statement with the fact that Alcohol do not allow you to use your brain; the conclusion drawn is that, the human being becomes brainless and any crime won't be a Crime for him and any relationship is not a relationship to him.
It's another thing that some one in some cases may use Alcohol as an excuse to commit a crime. But, then also, it it alcohol, that he used as a tool dilute the degree of his crime.

    Brother Nawaz,

What I am saying is that people cause harm to others even without consuming alcohol. And, most ppl who consume alcohol also do good to others let alone harm. There are these dumb asses who dont know how to handle themselves that give others a bad name.. whether they drink or not...

Secondly, you saying alcohol transfers humans from intellectuals to animals ( in your words) . However, being an animal is not a bad thing now , is it? Animals take care of their own , feed their young, dont drink alcohol , deviod of any malice, do not judge others etc etc.

Secondly, why should we assume humans are intellectuals in the first place ? Most of the ppl we see today around are dumb to the core. So, your statement although partially true doesnt make mine false. Peace out brother...
