Abu Dhabi, Sep 6 (IANS) A new environmentally sustainable waste management facility to process waste generated from construction activities has been unveiled in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), WAM news agency reported Sunday.
The facility has been installed by Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC), a developer of tourism real estate assets within Abu Dhabi, in conjunction with the facilities management company Thiess Services Middle East.
Located on Saadiyat Island, the new facility is would receive waste from construction activities taking place on the island. The facility, which covers a total of three hectares (30,000 square metres), segregates and recovers all valuable commodities from waste materials that would normally have been sent to landfills. T
"At TDIC we take the issue of sustainable resources extremely seriously; and throughout all of our projects, from design to completion, we actively employ and implement sustainable best practice guidelines," said Lee Tabler, chief executive officer of TDIC.
