A Platform for Dance Lovers : Navaras, Mangalore to be Launched at Kadri Temple

If you feel nostalgic of your dancing talent in your college days and wish to shake your hips for a while, here is an opportunity. Navaras, a unique dance group to be launched here on Saturday, intends to provide opportunity for amateurs to quench their thirst for dancing.

Navaras is all set to launch itself through their maiden cultural presentation at the Manjunatha Temple in Kadri on Saturday on the occasion of the Mosaru Kuduke celebrations as part of Krishna Janmashtami festivities.



According to the Director of Navaras, Sachitha Nandagopal, this is a concept that has evolved to enable to provide a platform to perform for anyone interested in semi classical and folk dance. ``We wish to bring people together through dance. We believe dancing for passion and dance as best medium of stress buster”.

The two-hours of cultural extravaganza on Saturday at Kadri comprises of an array of classical, semi-classical and folk dances of different states of India coupled with some humour and stills portraying our rich cultural treasure, so as to provide wholesome entertainment. The maiden presentation has artists between the age group of two and 45, kids, students, professionals and housewives, she informed.

Navaras will conduct dance classes for children, housewives and employees in separate batches, focusing mainly on semi-classical and folk with a base of Bharatanatyam. ``We would welcome anyone interested to dance to join us whenever we have any programmes on our way.’’ Further, one can sweat it out and burn their calories and also relieve themselves of stress through the medium of dance, she added.

    Excellent initiative. This will give aspiring talents an opportunity to learn dancing. If you introduce a special programme to train husbands to dance to wife''s tunes, you can also increase peace in society.
