Bengaluru: MP Tejasvi Surya slammed for his 'illiterate, puncture fixers' remark

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Dec 24: BJP MP Tejasvi Surya's remarks about people protesting against Citizenship Amendment Act and National Register of Citizens that puncture fixers and illiterates are leading these protests, have come in for large scale criticism from the social media.

Surya, addressing a meeting in the city in favour of the above moves of the central government, had made these remarks. Many who took to social media held that this is an attempt to show a section of the society in poor light. A number of people also said that being a responsible member of parliament, Surya is showing his immaturity through such talk. Several have wondered whether poor and illiterate people have no right to protest. Another person pointed out that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, expresses pride about his past as a tea vendor whereas people like Tejasvi have been looking down upon poor people with disdain.

Many including Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar have said that the MP should be nursing a sense of sympathy and support for such people rather than being proud of their position he has been enjoying now. Siddaramaiah said that this comment has exposed the RSS line of thinking.

Former deputy chief minister K S Eshwarappa, has advised Surya to be careful when uttering words at a time when the situation in the state is tense. At the same time, he questioned whether Khader was right in saying what he said.

He should have been sensitive being young! He has no idea what is dignity of labor! Puncture people are hard working and earn moderate money. This arrogant brat will learn the importance of Tyre puncture fellows when he is stuck with flat one middle of nowhere!! He should get stuck that way without water and for hours to learn with a jolt!! What a pity....Brand modi and communal agenda got these types into lime light and glorified such materials!!

Without labours and puncture wala he should have slept on road or foothpath, walking instead of travelling in luxurious cars, eating grass and leaves instead of food. Paison ka ghamand. Parents earning shield his head. Let him earn from grassroots, then will know what is poverty

Tejasvi Surya should learn to fix punctures and sweep the streets before opening his mouth next. Pity the chaps that voted for him - hope they learn and undo their mistake the next round.

    My dear young friend
do not make the mistake that your senior party leaders have made.. PRIDE, NO COMPROMISE ...
"We will do what we think right". In a Democracy, one needs to learn the first lesson to be humble & open ears to the people's voices. Otherwise you will be one like those who say ..... WHAT WAS DONE IN SEVENTY YEARS. My answer to them is.... Those seventy years have given you national pride, your own life and if your party is existing today, it is because of the tolerance emanated from the deeds of our past leaders.... . Thank this country for having given us the foresighted leaders of the past who could see what was coming today .... even seventy years ago. What you guys can do is tarnish their name, fame and image. YOU ARE YOUNG but you are in the wrong party. I do not belong to any party as I lived all my voting life away from India.

Really well said. Please note all senior party leaders were there in the political system in one form or the other without forgetting part of the history where different political parties have run the governments both at center and at state level, though they may not be ruling party.
Now during this difficult times, let the senior leaders show the maturity of tolerance for all and put to practice 'SABKA VIKAS'.

Let them turn away from evil and do good; let them speak peace and pursue it.

"When you speak the world comes to know who you are". Narrow minded or large hearted person. It is paradox that scientists of eminence show sympathy and want to be in the shoe of downtrodden poor people where as some people with normal knowledge act as if they are super scientists.

Respected former Deputy Chief Minister Mr. K S Eehwarappa.. Mr. Surya is still infant in Indian Politics though he has qualification. It would be best if you had advised him to apologize for what he is said and be cautious with his words further. Surya need to be upgrade his communication skills in public speaking and need to be sensible and cautious every time not only during the time of tensed situation. your advise may hurt his ego but it would surely rise your respect and value of your personality being a senior leader. Even UTK , Nalin Kumar and other politician's should apologize for spoiling peace of public by their unethical statements now or earlier. Will they do this? Never because they are leader for their own benefits.

This first time MP is an arrogant brat, apparently he comes from a rich background, must be a Brahman, brags about his being a Lawyer, blah blah blah blah, he got a ticket & won the election 2019 only because of Brand Modi. Just the other day he was snubbed by Arnab Cowswami of Republic TV, who himself barks and is a lap dog of the Delhi Duo. Tejaswi must remember that the poor / illiterate are struggling to earn a living, be it by puncture shops or making Tea, whereas he is living a life of luxury as an MP at the cost us the tax payers. Pride goes before a fall and just like our arrogant Home Minister, Tejaswi will soon be shown his place.

Tejasvi Surya is an arrogant guy who has no control over his tongue. When emotional he speaks without any application of mind. He is a Member of Parliament and is called an Honourable Member in the house. He should behave in a dignified manner.

This is the reason irrespective religion people are on street against NRC/CAA.
Once Muslim names out of NRC, Indians will spread in to many categories by profession, caste, color, race, etc. 2% upper caste will run the show.

This is the mentality of BJp MPs.
They always have in their mind that the underprivileged have no rights.

But when it comes to election rallies these same MPs ask votes with those same "Puncture walah"s by showing fake humble roots of Chai Walah.
