Bengaluru, Dec 25: The main office of the Communist Party of India (CPI) in the heart of the city at Malleshwaram here was torched by unknown miscreants late night on Tuesday December 24.

Petrol was sprinkled on the building and fire was ignited.

In the incident, six motorbikes parked near the building were burnt down, it is gathered. It was earlier claimed that eight bikes had been damaged.

The party suspects that this was the handiwork of miscreants who are angry that the CPI has been vociferously opposing the implementation of Citizenship Ammendment Act.

State secretary of CPI, Sathi Sundaresh, commenting about the development, termed this as direct assault on democratic rights enjoyed by the people and his party. He said that protest would be organized against this incident.

The police said that it was an attempt to torch the CPI office. They said that miscreants who came in a motorbike at around 1 am on Wednesday poured petrol and tried to set the CPI on fire. This could also be the handiwork of people who are angry at the protests organized by the CPI during the tour of Kerala by chief minster, B S Yediurappa, to register its opposition to CAA. As the miscreants had poured petrol and set the door of the offie on fire the door also was burnt. CPI has planned protest today at 1 pm near its Malleshwaram office, sources said.

Deputy commissioner of police, Chethan Singh Rathod, said that six motorbikes kept inside the CPI office compound were torched by bike-borne miscreants at around 1 am. He said that a case in this connection was registered in Vyalikaval police station, and that the police will investigate to find out the culprits and their intentions.

Karnataka CM , Mr Yeddyurappa was attacked by DYFI supporters in Kerala , If CM's security guards had not taken swift action, result would have been very bad..Kerala media did not give good coverage of this incident unlike Mangaluru firing...May be Bangalore incident is a retaliation to CM's Kerala incident..It is my guess...
