Mumbai, Jan 13: Guru Narayana night school run by Billavara Association celebrated its 59th anniversary at Narayanaguru auditorium, Santacruz on Saturday evening, January 11. Billavara Association Mumbai mouthpiece monthly magazine ‘Akshaya’ honorary editor M B Kukyan inaugurated the programme.

Association president Chandrashekar S Poojary presided over the programme. Well-known auditor of Mumbai, Prakash Shetty was the chief guest. Kannada Sangha Santacruz education committee secretary Shakila P Shetty, young entrepreneur Suresh Acharya, who were present as guests of honor presented prizes and scholarships to the competition winning students.

Teachers Shivananda Patil, Sunil Kamble, Mohini Poojary, Vimala Poojary non-teaching staff Navita S Suvarna, Sunil Patil, student representative Aishwarya R Poojary, hundreds of students including alumni students and education lovers were present.

Students presented several entertainment programmes. Dhamesh S Salian conducted a cultural programmes.

The programme began after singing prayer songs. The school subcommittee president Bannanje Ravindra Ameen welcomed the gathering. School headmaster Ramachandrayya C read the annual report. Association honorary joint secretary Harish G Salian introduced the guests. Teachers Dashamani S D, Hema Gowda read the list of competition winners. Association honorary chief secretary Dhananjay S Shanti gave an introduction. Teacher Mallikarjuna I Badigera rendered the vote of thanks.
