Mangalore: Karnataka Bank to Issue DDs at Par, Favouring CM's Relief Fund

Mangalore, Oct 9: Karnataka Bank Ltd, a leading private sector bank with its head office in the city, has come out with a goodwill gesture for the people willing to help the victims if Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh states,  parts of which are devastated by the heavy rains and floods that have destroyed houses, infrastructure, property, crops etc., and took away the lives of hundreds of people.

Moved by the plight of the victims, the Bank said, through a release, that it has decided to issue demand drafts at par, at all the branches of the bank, favouring the Chief Minister's Relief Funds of these two states. It said, it has already conveyed necessary instructions to all its branches across the country of this decision.

The Bank has expressed the hope that this initiative will provide considerable impetus to the collection of relief funds.
