Hubli: Konkani Sahitya Academy to Organize Konkani Jagrati Abhiyan on Oct 11

Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy will be organizing its third programme at GSB Laxmi Saraswati Sadan, J C Nagar, here at 4.00 pm on Sunday October 11.  Konkani Sahitya Academy has embarked upon the idea of initiating  Akhila Karnataka Konkani Jagruti Abhiyan, in order to create awareness about mother tongue Konkani, its distinct culture and folklores amont the Konkani-speaking people.
 
GSB Samaj president R N Naik will inaugurate the programme, here at 4.00 pm on Sunday October 11.
 
Konkani Academy president Kundapur Narayan Karvi will preside over the programme.
 
Daivajna Samaj president, Ramesh Varnekar, Keshwapur St Joseph’s parish priest, Fr Joseph Rodrigues and Konkan Marata Samaj president P V Samanth will be the chief guests of the occasion.
 
The fourth programme under the Akhila Karnataka Konkani Jagruti Abhiyan will be held at Kala Bhavan in Dharwad, at 4.00 pm on Monday October 12.
 
Dharwad St Joseph’s parish priest Fr Alex D’Cruz will inaugurate the programme at the said venue at 4.00 pm on Monday October 12.
 
Konkani Academy president Kundapur Narayan Karvi will preside over the programme.
 
Daivajna Samaj former president Shivanand R Varnekar and Hubli Konkan Marata Samaj secretary Sanjeev Naik will be the chief guests of the occasion. 
 
Konkani light music, folk singing, folklore, comedy, mimicry, one-act play, dumb-act and skits will be staged by 29 artistes, during the variety cultural events being presented at both these programmes, the Academy said in a press release.
