Congratulations to Admiral Rao on his well deserved promotion. A well deserved promotion to a meritorious office who has dedicated his life to the Navy and the nation. He has been a pioneer in Hydrographical science in the country and now as Chief Hydrographer to the Government of India he will in charge of preparing accurate nautical maps(both printed and digital) for the country.

I am indeed proud of him more so because he comes from Dakshina Kannada. A great human being, a truly family man, sportsman and philosopher he is sure to bring greater glory to the Hydrogrpahy department. All the best.
