DHCBA to protest against transfer of Justice Muralidhar


New Delhi, Feb 19 (IANS): The Delhi High Court Bar Association (DHCBA) on Wednesday announced complete abstinence from work on Thursday in order to protest against the transfer of Justice S Muralidhar.

The lawyers association termed the transfer of Justice Muralidhar from the Delhi High Court to the Chandigarh High Court as "arbitrary".

The resolution was passed at an emergency executive committee meeting held on Wednesday.

The Supreme Court Collegium recently intimated its proposal to transfer Justice S. Muralidhar from the Delhi High Court to the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Justice Muralidhar began his law practice in Chennai in September 1984. He shifted to the Supreme Court and Delhi High Court in 1987. He was appointed judge of the Delhi High Court in 2006.
